My husband Bob and I have been married for over 35 years and we have two beautiful adult daughters.
We have a 2 year old English Cream Retriever, Luna Belle, and a 14.5 year old Basset Hound, Wilhelmia Barker (Mina). We have two cats, a 19lbs grey male, Seamus Tiberius, and a small 10lbs all-black cat, Jiji Pumpernickle.
I’ve been a stay at home wife for most of our 35 years, though I now consider myself retired or almost retired. I have worked from home as a web designer.
We have lived in Southeast Central PA for over 21 years, but Bob and I are originally from the Poconos.
When we first started camping, before we were married, we camped in tents. We quickly upgraded to a used very small trailer when our youngest daugther was a baby. About two years later we moved up to the “long, long, trailer”! It was a 33′ Terry Taurus with a bunkhouse. We used that for many years until the girls were too involved with school activities, so we sold it.
Then came the HUGE old Bounder motorhome. The girls always liked camping trips and missed them. We all wanted to take another out-west trip and include their boyfriends. Many, many stories are to be told on this blog about the first trip out-west with it! Bob couldn’t take the motorhome’s constant repairs and the money flying out the window, so we sold it. We did have many eventful trips in that Bounder though!
Recently, we have had a smaller 23′ Holiday Rambler Alumascape with a full slide. It is really well-built and has given us very little trouble. It was mostly used for PSU tailgating where we spent our weekends in the RV overnight lot. We had so many good times there, “WE ARE!” The HR is perfect for two people and we really liked it. However, when camping with guests, it was a little harder to get to the bathroom. Now being a little older getting to the bathroom and my coffee in the morning is paramount!
Because of these inconveniences, I decided we needed something larger. I found a used 5th wheel in beautiful shape! It’s a 2009 Montana Big Sky, and yay, the potty is close to the bedroom! Win! The kitchen (coffee) is between me and the guests, perfect!
But of course, if you have a 5th wheel you need a truck to pull it. We had the dealer deliver the 5th wheel to us last November, which gave us a few months to search for a truck. We found a beautiful 2015 Chevy Silverado dually diesel.
